Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a brief, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people resolve trauma and other emotional difficulties by reprocessing distressing memories. It uses guided eye movements while clients visually recall upsetting experiences, allowing the brain to reduce the emotional and physical distress associated with those memories. Clients are not required to discuss details of the trauma and are guided to replace distressing images with more neutral or positive ones. ART does not erase memories but changes how they are stored, often leading to rapid symptom relief in fewer sessions than traditional therapies.
